How to Prepare Yourself and Your Health for Long Land Trip
You have just arrived from a long flight. Now it is time for you to get ready for a few hours of land trip. Here are a few tips on how to let your body cope up with a long ride.
First, relieve yourself in the bathroom before you get in the car. You may not have the opportunity to stop by a toilet when you are on your way. Do not think of holding the unpleasant feeling in your bowel or bladder during the entire duration of the ride because doing so is known to produce negative health effects and can exacerbate the unpleasant experience even more.
Next, if you are prone to motion sickness, make sure you take your dizziness medication beforehand. Anti-dizziness pills usually do their magic after half an hour or so, so it is important that by the time you enter the vehicle, the medicine is already working.
Finally, carry a bottle of water or juice with you so you can hydrate yourself. That is because the temperature inside the car or the atmospheric pressure that happens due to the change of elevation on the road (e.g., when you are travelling up a mountain to reach a ski resort) can dehydrate you.
